AVIONICS PROJECT MANAGER

FULL TIME | ROCKFORD, IL

 

Position Description: The avionics project manager is a hands-on position, coordinating and performing avionics repairs, installations, and upgrades in the L-39 Albatros and other experimental jet aircraft. The Avionics Project Manager works with state-of-the-art technology to deliver our clients jets that are technologically advanced and visually striking.

 

The successful project manager communicates with clients throughout the project to learn their needs, prepares estimates, and develops the supporting technical documentation necessary to complete projects on-time and on-budget.

 

Specific duties include:

  • Researching avionics equipment capabilities and installation requirements

  • Preparing estimates to match customer specifications

  • Developing project schedules and plans for on-time completion

  • Forecasting intermediate project deadlines and completion dates

  • Drafting electrical diagrams using computer-aided drafting (CAD) software

  • Delegating maintenance work to other technicians

  • Working with aircraft leads to coordinate work

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • 3-5 years experience in avionics

  • Strong electrical troubleshooting skills

  • Proficiency reading and interpreting electrical schematics

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Effective communication skills

  • Possess their own toolbox and tool set

AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE & RESTORATION TECHNICIAN

FULL TIME | ROCKFORD, IL

 

Position Description: The aircraft maintenance & restoration technician is a hands-on position using their skill and experience to help Code 1 Aviation keep our customers' jet warbirds in top condition. They use "out-of-the-box" thinking to overcome unique maintenance challenges and develop new ways Code 1 can provide value to our clients.

 

Specific duties include:

  • Performing scheduled inspections on L-39 Albatros jets

  • Troubleshooting and correcting discrepancies

  • Installation of equipment modifications and upgrade kits

  • Fabrication of sheet metal repairs, brackets, doublers, and other similar components

  • Component overhaul and restoration

The successful candidate will possess the following qualifications:

  • FAA-issued Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic Certificate (A&P)

  • Possess their own toolbox and tool set

  • Attention to detail

  • Strong organization habits

  • Ability to read and interpret system schematics and diagrams

  • Experience working with military, turbine, and/or warbird aircraft
